Rhino rugby launches global campaign on the ‘feeling of contact’
A campaign fronted by Welsh-Tongan prop Sisilia Tuipolutu has been launched across the world by the leading contact equipment brand Rhino celebrating the joy of contact.
Rhino’s #WeAreContact campaign was created by Sporting Eric and features Welsh stars Sisilia Tuipulotu, Will Davies King and James Botham showcasing their contact skills at the Cardiff Arms Park against a series of opponents, having first tested their mettle against the famed blue of the brand’s technical equipment.
The campaign is Rhino’s first truly global campaign, having simultaneously launched in key markets in the UK and Ireland, France, the Middle East and North and South America. “Contact has always been at the very heart of what we do, and this campaign by Sporting Eric reflects not only our technical excellence, but also how we know the feeling of contact better than anyone,” explains Reg Clark, CEO of Rhino. “While the contact area is forever a subject of debate, we continue to evolve our offering, ensuring safety is always paramount, while not forgetting what makes our game special.”
#WeAreContact is rolling out across all Rhino markets, with a refreshed look and feel being brought to websites, social channels and all other communication channels, for at least the duration of the Rugby World Cup, featuring many sides that have trained with the brand’s range.
“The feeling of contact is why many people play the game, with competitive scrums and distinct laws meaning contact in union is completely unique, and we wanted to celebrate that," explains Alex Mead, Sporting Eric’s managing director. “It’s about connecting people at every level of the game with what makes it special.”
The campaign is the brand’s first major launch since the UK-driven Home of Scrum three years ago, and emphasises Rhino’s position at the top of the contact category, as official suppliers to, among others, Wales, France, England and, for the past four tours, the British & Irish Lions.
